The CD54HC4514 is a versatile high-speed silicon-gate CMOS device. It features a 4-bit strobed latch and a decoder that selects one of sixteen active-high outputs based on the binary code provided at the inputs. When the Latch Enable (LE) pin is high, the outputs follow the input signals; when LE goes low, the current state is stored, allowing the processor to perform other tasks without losing the output state. It can also act as a demultiplexer by using the Enable (E) pin as a data input. Built for reliability, it operates across a wide voltage range and offers high noise immunity, making it suitable for both industrial and military-grade applications.
